Replicant Works 3: Garage Kit & Character Figure (Extra Issue) by Various

My personal copy of this book is a rather curious thing- the book is #3 of the Extra Issues of Replicant, the cover itself has the girl and colors from the #3 Issue. However, for some odd reason I have yet to find out, the printing number says #4, and it claims to contain 2005-2006, when it really does contain 2001-2004.
Regardless of that, it's a great photographic book of Model Kits, PVC Statues.

Comic Front - The Gorgeous Artbook of Original Color 2 by Various

I don't really have many comments on this, basically, I bought it because of the Kyou Kara Maou and Tsubasa pictures, as I'm neither fan nor hate the rest of the series portrayed (some I don't even know, but found had pretty art anyway).
The art is lovely in all, though, full-pages, full color. Nothing special to it. It lacks Kuro Fay images though~ the Tsubasa section is mostly Shaoran and Sakura, with only one of Fay and Chii, and none of our favourite ninja.

Kaleido Scope by Kohime Ohse

Even if I'm not particularly fond of any of the games/series portraited in half of the illustrations on this book, the illustrations themselves make it worth it. The drawings and soft coloring used are lovely, and it has mostly full-pages illustrations, as well as some chibis. The comic at the end is quite funny too, even when I don't completly understand japanese.

Amorous Dancing EMBU by Tomomi Kobayashi

I don't think I'm really familiar with Kobayashi's works, however, upon seeing this artbook on the comic store, and at such “reasonable” price, I just couldn't help but get it.
The art through it is amazing. The colors soft but vibrant, and the b&w illustrations don't dissapoint at all. Each illustration seems to be unique and detailed to the brim, filled with men in feudal armours and clothes and some women aswell. It also contains a few “modern day” images.

I completly adore this artbook.
I'm biased, I love this series way too much as to find any fail on the artbook. The art is gorgeous, the series is amazing, and you just have to get it. I don't care if you don't like CLAMP!
I'm pretty sure the short manga about Ashura-ou's death explains quite a bit of everything.

I'm not particularly a fan of the series, although I do like the art very much. I personally find anime artbooks tend to, more often than not, have slightly lower quality art than required to meet my standards. Perhaps it's the lack of detail put into pictures that aren't meant to be animated. The Art Board Selection and “Official Arts” were my favourite parts of it, including a few of the first illustrations. The artbook is far more “chatty” than I like, and not being a great fan of the series it doesn't interest me as much.

Split among the two major sections of the artbook are the different illustrations utilized in the tankubons as well as the Kanzenban version. This artbook doesn't really have any “new” art one hasn't seen in the mangas already, but in all, it's lovely to have if you're a Yu Yu Hakusho fan like I am.

Although in my opinion this artbook wins over the first one, it still seems to be a bit more “empty” than that one. I don't think I can explain exactly why, perhaps it's the picture placement on the pages that give it that effect, like something is missing out of some pages.
Now, I love both artbooks very much, this one specially as I'm an Eagle Vision fan, and this one has pictures of him all over~, but it's the “empty” feeling that makes me give it a lower rating.

Very random, I know, but it's awesome. It brings the names of all the colors, red, blue, burgandry, and everything in between! Reading this you may even discover shades of colors you didn't know existed. O.o
